If you are considering purchasing a Kit Home, you will no doubt have a lot of questions.
To assist we have answered some of the most Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ's) here for you.

Does Kitome have display homes?
Yes, in fact we have 6 display homes across QLD, NSW and VIC you can view. For more information
go to the Display/Showroom tab on our website.

Can I make changes to your designs or design my own home?
Yes. We are one of the few companies that actually manufacture our own frames and trusses and have
a fully computerised drawing and design program. We can supply any style, shape and size home..
you are only limited by your imagination.

How do we pay for a Kitome?
We require a 5% deposit upon signing of the contract, with this we will supply you with your home plans and BASIX (NSW only) certificates. With this paperwork you will now be ready to submit the plans
to council. The next step is your first progress payment which is 20% of the contract value, this is paid when you request us to commence the manufacture of you home. Progress Payments then follow on with your requests for the other stages of your home.

Other costs involved in getting my kit to my building site and ready to start building?
Cost of delivery can be obtained from your sales consultant at the time of signing of the contract.

What is the difference between a Kitome and other home builders?
The only difference, and the most important, are the savings. By doing some or most of the work yourself you could save thousands of dollars! Most people who view our display homes are amazed at what you get in our kits. We encourage you to view our display homes and see for yourself.

How long does it take to manufacture and have my Kit home delivered to site?
We are able to manufacture a Kitome in about 5 weeks for receipt of the Delivery Request but in special cases we can supply components of your home such as gyprock, in as little time as 2 weeks.
Other items will require 5 weeks such as kitchen and bathroom supplies.

How long does it take to build a Kit home?
A kitome can be built in as little as 8 weeks.

Can the average Handy Man build a Kit home?
Yes, the average handy man can build a kitome.

What does "Lock Up" mean?
At "Lock Up" the house is finished externally which means the roof, external walls, windows and doors
are all fitted.

Do you supply your kits anywhere?
Yes, our kits can be delivered all over the world. We've even sent them to New Zealand and
Papua New Guinea!

Are the drawings you provide complete and suitable for certification/Council approval?
We will supply engineered designed working drawings for you home, ready to be submitted to your local Council or Building Certifier.

Are your kits "energy efficient"?
All our kits are designed to work with the environment and all Working Drawings come with an
Energy Efficiency Plan to demonstrate compliance with Council regulations and we will work with you
to achieve your Engery Efficient compliance.

Do you have a Builder that you can recommend in our local area?
Yes our sales teams are in contact with many people and can refer you to a Builder.

How are the Kits delivered?
All our kits are delivered using a semi or rigid truck. Most of these vehicles are fitted with cranes (depending on location) to enable easy off loading.

Does Kitome build?
No. We specialise in supplying building material packages to the Owner Builder and Building Industry.

Can the ceiling height vary?
Yes, you can choose between 2440, 2540, 2740 and 3000 ceiling heights, but our standard ceiling
height is 2440. If you wish you can nominate a special size ceiling height.

Do you do other claddings e.g. Colourbond, Hebel, Blueboard, Rendered, etc?
Yes, you can choose from a range of claddings from both Weathertex or James Hardie cladds,
you have the choice to build your home from bricks supplied by PGH..your choices are many and varied!
